Dean of Students Leadership Award
世界杯官方app boast many students who lead, serve and inspire. Nominate students deserving of this recognition. Nominees must meet these criteria to be considered for the award:
- Be currently enrolled at 世界杯官方app
- Have a 世界杯官方app GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Be in good academic, financial and disciplinary standing with the university
- Be nominated by either another 世界杯官方app student or a 世界杯官方app faculty/staff member
The Dean of Student Leardership Award nominations can be submitted through the Leadership and Volunteer Services Rowdylink page. Nominations are due at midnight on the 15th of every month with winners being announced the first day of the following month.
Submissions will start being accepted September 1, 2022.
November 2022 - Victoria Veloz
Victoria Veloz is currently a Junior majoring in Psychology and is involved in VOICES, Roadrunner Productions, Involvement Ambassador, the Psychology Student Association, and the Roadrunner Student Alumni Association. Nominator Bethany, says as I have seen through working alongside Victoria, a leader is not one who always knows the answer to every question, but knows that through hard work and dedication, an answer can be found.
When asked what makes Victoria Veloz stand out from her peers, nominator Bethany Arancelovic stated, she ensures that everyone around her feels wholeheartedly appreciated and heard.
October 2022 - Michael Castillo
Michael Castillo is currently a Senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering boasting a 3.91 GPA. Michael has been involved in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Klesse Student Council, and is a tutor for the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design. Nominator stated that they “admire the way he is able to keep a calm and friendly demeanor even with everything he has going on and actively seeks out ways to be involved, improve things, and helps people without being prompted by anyone.”
When asked what makes Michael Castillo stand out from Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design peers, nominator Ruben Mercado stated, “Despite his busy schedule he still looks for more ways to be involved and help people.”
September 2022 - Roberta Carrillo Vega
Roberta Carrillo Vega was nominated for this award by her advisor and Educational Psychology Professor Hannah MacNaul.
They are currently a Graduate Student seeking a Master’s of Science in Behavior Analysis. Roberta has an internship with our university-supported ABA clinic providing services to autistic children, many of whom engage in challenging behaviors and volunteered for six weeks at Camp Durango, an inclusive summer camp infused with ABA therapy. Nominator Professor MacNaul also goes further to say that she “is a perfect example of how 世界杯官方app, through the leadership of our students, can positively impact the greater San Antonio community, and also have a life-changing international impact.”
